September 2009

Dear Valued Client,

This has been a summer of changes and challenges. Thank you for your patience, your loyalty and your encouragement as I transition to a new practice model. It is with great excitement and delight that I now announce our plans for the future: I am combining Acupuncture and Herbs For Pets with two excellent conventional practices! The doctors at Mission Road Animal Clinic and Animal Clinic of Boardwalk Square have decided to offer alternative services at their hospitals. Starting in October, I will be at each location 2 days per week. The new contact information for Acupuncture and Herbs For Pets, and both host hospitals is on page 2 of this letter. I will enclose business cards for each business in this mailing. Please keep the contact information in a handy place so you can refer to it in the future. I am thrilled to be able to continue to offer alternative treatment modalities within these wonderful practices. This new arrangement will require you to know when to call us, and when to call the host hospitals. The staff at the host hospitals will not be able to answer questions about alternative medicine or set up appointments with me.

The doctors at both of the host hospitals are progressive and receptive to unconventional treatment modalities. They will each be offering Plan B, a reduced frequency immunization and titer testing protocol, which I have discussed with them. These two practice locations will allow convenient access to a treatment center. Both of the clinics have modern traditional veterinary facilities, up-to-date diagnostic equipment, full conventional pharmacies, and a skilled support staff to care for your pets. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to work with both practices in this unique veterinary situation. Doctor Billie Deam at Animal Clinic of Boardwalk Square recently completed training in Veterinary Chiropractic Manipulation.

My prescription herb pharmacy has been moved to the old Weston clinic building. WESTONVET will soon have a new on-line storefront www.altpetvet.net for purchases of over-the-counter alternative supplements and supplies. Dori Thomas, at the Weston location, will be scheduling my appointment calendar. Email westonvet@westonvet.com or call Dori at 816-640-3155 to schedule an appointment with me. She will answer email and phone messages and will know how to contact me when I’m needed. She will also prepare herbal prescriptions and supply orders. All orders will be shipped to your home address. We will not have walk-in store hours in Weston. Mailing your pet’s supplies is necessary and will simplify the process to help us maintain accuracy and a timely delivery.

If you need conventional services like a dental cleaning or surgery, you may schedule that procedure with the host hospital. It is also appropriate to call them if you have an urgent medical situation. I am not available for unexpected emergencies. Remember, my services are best suited for the sick pet and managing chronic disease. If you have a well pet (one that is not being treated for medical problems with alternative medications) you may have the conventional veterinarian at the host hospital closest to you schedule an annual physical examination. Be sure to tell them you are one of my clients, and indicate if you are interested in Plan B-reduced vaccine frequency, or their conventional vaccine protocol. Thank you so much for your ongoing support. I look forward to seeing you soon at one of the host hospitals.

Sincerely,
Linda L Faris, DVM, CVA
